My plan includes implementing clear directives within the warrant division that prioritize the execution of violent crime warrants while addressing the backlog of non-verified and outdated warrants. By focusing our resources on the most pressing matters, we can reduce unnecessary disturbances for residents and ensure that law enforcement actions are both timely and justified.
A significant aspect of this initiative will be to eliminate unwanted knocks on doors and the arrest of citizens for expired warrants. By streamlining our processes and enhancing communication with relevant stakeholders, we will be able to manage warrants more effectively, allowing for a more respectful interaction between law enforcement and the community. This reform not only promotes a more equitable approach to policing but also conveys a message that we value the rights and dignity of our citizens.
Ultimately, these changes aim to rebuild trust between law enforcement and the residents of Clayton County. By ensuring that our actions are transparent and focused on community safety, we can foster a collaborative relationship with the public we serve. My commitment to improving the serving of civil papers and eviction processes reflects my dedication to upholding justice while promoting a safer, more respectful community for all.
Respectfully,
Cornell “CJ” Madison
Candidate for Clayton County Sheriff
